Decker fought with the label to get more control of her music, after two singles fell. Her second album, Boys in the Summer is more country-oriented. The second album of Decker, dubbed in the form of Daughter of a Gypsy and Sweet American Dreams by Mercury Records, was canceled following Mercury noticed the weak performance of three singles by Decker in the country charts.
