Katherine Heigl shares the ways that growing up as a child living in a white bubble has impacted the way that she raised her family of multiracial origins. In an interview with actress Katherine Heigl, who plays "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress admitted her looks didn't bother her, however, after speaking to her adopted sister from South Korea about how society was treating them, she became aware of the stark differences their lives were. Meg was asked whether the way she was treated differed when they were out together with their parents and then the time they were on their own. Meg replied, "Oh, sure, I was treated the same way all the times! That made me realize that I was naive," Heigl said to Parents. The actor said she became upset, but she felt that she had use that anger to aid her adopted daughters. Heigl, who has been with Josh Kelley for 13 years they have a son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. Their daughter Nancy Leigh was adopted from South Korea by the couple in 2009. Adalaide is an Black 8-year old girl that was adopted by the couple in 2012.
